Canada has one of the most diverse ecologies in the world. From Arctic Tundra to the Grand Banks, the ENVIRO CANADA educational series #1 provides Teachers and Home School Parents with first class teaching material. Students learn about the environment and the balance of nature in the various ecosystems of Canada. Graphical posters allow children to visualize the attributes of each region, such as the animals that inhabit the area, the atmosphere, plant life and soil types.
The ENVIRO CANADA educational series #1 is brought to you by J & L MacPherson Ltd., authors of the textbooks "This Land, Newfoundland" & "This Land, British Columbia" published by Fitzhenry & Whiteside.
These colourful posters are a companion to a comprehensive package of student activities complete with teacher keys for each one.
The ENVIRO CANADA series provides 3 levels of course work, from Elementary grades (4-7), to Junior High (8-10), right up to Senior High / Adult. Check out the Course Outline for more information. The various levels can be worked through without repetition.
This material has been approved by and licensed for photocopying to school districts and educational boards across Canada.
1. The course has been purchased by Vancouver School District #39 for all its 98 schools from grade 4 up.
2. It is licensed to all schools of 25 boards in Ontario. To view, in full, the material’s approval by the Ontario Ministry of Education for its new curriculum go to; http:www.curriculum.org/occ/resources/enviro1.shtml.
Please note that up to 2005 the course was available in hard copy only. Now, because of advances in technology, we offer it only on CD-ROM. This format not only allows ease of distribution world-wide, but enables our customers to electronically select from and adapt the content to suit their particular needs. This flexibility applies also to the full color annotated study prints.
This innovative supply approach makes the Enviro-Canada series an excellent choice for home school associations or other organized educational groups no matter their size or location.
View the complete course Outline. Sections 1 and 2 plus the “Arctic Tundra” print can be downloaded for trial use, with no obligation to purchase. Note that the quality of the images is not comparable to that available on the CD.
The lessons of the material apply world-wide. The sheer size of Canada provides the variety of distinctive ecosystems which make it an ideal base towards the study of all the earth’s environments.
